How does the Drying System work?
The Drying System is installed next to the biodigester and receives the stabilized sludge through an extraction pipe. The sludge goes through a natural drying process: the liquid part seeps into the soil through the gravel at the bottom of the system, and the solid part accumulates for later removal and proper disposal.
Installation in 4 steps
Installation site
It should be next to the biodigester, with no bends in the piping, on permeable soil and with no groundwater near the surface.
Excavation
A pit 130 cm deep and 90 cm in diameter holds the system. A slightly sloped trench is also dug to connect it to the biodigester.
Assembly and connection
Fit the unit onto a gravel bed, install the extraction pipe and seal it with an internal ball valve.
Backfill and finishing
Compact the surroundings by hand with a mix of soil and cement. Optionally, a cover resting on the ground can be built.

The Aquarela Eco Drying System was developed for the dewatering, drying and mineralization of sludge from commercial biodigesters.
Is it the same as a drying bed?
No. Drying beds are large areas used to dewater the sludge generated at sewage and effluent treatment plants. Although some manufacturers use that term for similar products, in practice it works more like a drying box.

Yes! Our system is compatible with biodigesters of up to 2,000 liters of useful volume. Since many manufacturers only publish the total volume, our system efficiently serves most products on the market that fall within this limit.
Can it be installed where the water table is shallow, in flood-prone areas or near watercourses?
