How is a polyethylene tank cleaned?
It should be cleaned periodically: empty the tank, remove debris and wash the inner walls with water and mild soap. Avoid harsh chemicals.
What is the service life of a polyethylene tank?
Aquarela Eco tanks are made of a plastic material that takes hundreds of years to decompose. The stated service life is 15 to 20 years, but with proper care it can last much longer.
Are polyethylene tanks resistant to sun and heat?
Yes, Aquarela Eco polyethylene tanks are designed to withstand sun exposure and the elements.
Can a polyethylene tank be buried?
It is possible, but it will need to be protected from soil and groundwater pressure. For underground use, we recommend the Aquarela Eco cistern, which is designed for that purpose. Check the specifications in the manual or contact our customer service.
What is the difference between the tank and an Aquarela Eco cistern?
Unlike cisterns, tanks were not designed to bear soil loads on their walls. To use tanks underground, they must be housed so that they are protected from soil and groundwater pressure.
Can it be installed where the water table is shallow, in flooded areas or near watercourses?
We do not recommend installation in these situations. Construction work can make it feasible, but it is generally more complex and costly, and supervision by a responsible professional is essential.
